Partnership breakthroughs and being B-BBEE compliant are central to our vision 2022, thus, we are pleased to announce that Roche South Africa has entered into a partnership with Raizcorp to help develop and support the businesses of two local entrepreneurs through the Roche Business Growth Programme. It is important to develop entrepreneurship as part of our B-BBEE strategy to combat and eradicate unemployment in South Africa. Through this partnership, Roche will ensure that through enterprise-development initiatives, we make a real difference by supporting entrepreneurs who can create more jobs.
The entrepreneurs selected for the Roche Business Growth Programme have passed a rigorous eight-step selection process that included assessments, audits and a panel presentation. The process identified John Dube from Dugass Hydraulics and Armstrong Morake from ASM Transport as the two entrepreneurs with the best potential to succeed.
As part of the programme, John and Armstrong will undergo an approved and highly recognised practical learning curriculum from Raizcorp that has been accredited by the Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative or SFEDI, the UK government’s non-profit standards-setting body for small business support and development. Roche will be sponsoring John and Amstrong for a period of one year.
As a global pioneer in pharmaceuticals and diagnostics focused on advancing science to improve people’s lives, it is imperative that we form partnerships with world class organisations. Raizcorp is, according to The Economist, the only genuine incubator in Africa, which provides full service enterprise and supplier development programmes that guide entrepreneurs to profitability.
Transformation is an important business metric. Not only is it a “license to do business”, it also measures our contribution towards the economic and social evolution of our country, in a meaningful, defined and measurable way.
